Slave Earrings on Vogue.it. Racist?

Vogue.it is favored by many & very popular within the fashion world, in fact its my personal favorite website.

Just the other Vogue.it posted a very... I'm not sure if racist is what they aimed for, knowing how much they appreciate and dedicate to black people on their site but about few days ago a post came up titled "Slave Earrings". Another Paparazzi website mediatakeout.com were the 1st to put light on the title of the post which you can view below:

After mediatakeout.com addressed Vogue.it on their site, fans of Vogue Italia and people that are dedicated to the magazine instantly started tweeting and commenting on the issue. Few hours ago Vogue made a public apology & also :-

Yes, they changed the title to Ethnic Earrings

Racist, or?

Let's put it this way: Vogue Italia has dedicated a whole page to black people title V Black where they have posted more than a much on the beauty of black people, not to mention they have also featured black women on the magazine quite a few times before. Vogue has recognized more than a few Black models every now and then, most recognized? Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, Ajak Deng, Melody Monrose... etc..

They have also put light on more than a few black models/makeup artists/musicians/writers/hairstylists/designers/bloggers & the list goes on.

I think something went wrong with that title, but they weren't trying to be racist.

HMMMM! Creative Or?

: S... Creative or?
I vote Creative.

A Male Model better Than a Female Model at Her OWN GAME? =/...

Over 6ft tall, at only 19 years old Australian model Andrej Pejic had people wondering "Who is the blonde girl modeling men's wear at Paris Men's show 2010?) Well news flash, HE'S A MAN.

Andrej Pejic carrying long blonde hair, very feminine features and also a striking catwalk on the runway didn't only have people wondering but got booked for two jobs by Jean Paul Gaultier.

I am a very big fan of different catwalks, its the 1st thing I notice on a model & yes, Andrej Pejic captures attention with his electrifying performance on the runway:

Not only on the Runway is Andrej Pejic a shock but his woman figure is quite fierce as well.

Check out the pictures below:

Aren't you looking forward to see more of Andrej Pejic? I know I am. =)

L.U.A.L x Nancy Chan x Slo - Letter To Dr. John Garang

Lual D'Awol, if you haven't heard the name, he's one of the few South Sudanese youth to express himself through music, to be more specific "Rap Music". The 1st song I heard by him titled: "Letter To Dr. John Garang" featuring Slo & Qwashi also from South Sudan really moved me. The chorus didn't just speak to Dr. John Garang but it spoke to everyone else as well.

Dr. John Garang was our fighter for freedom and is our strong link to keep fighting for what we believe in. Dr. John Garang didn't just inspire us but he spoke all of our minds when we had no voice. He brought the peace treaty to the table, although left us too soon & at a time when South Sudan needed him the most, his death brought strength to our hearts and minds, why? We had to give him that respect of making his dream come true. For South Sudan to become a nation & Baba Garang, I will gladly look up to the skies, smile & tell you: A New Nation Is Born.

For heroes, you can't really find much words to say, because their actions have spoken louder than any voice could. With that being said, Look down on South Sudan from Heaven Baba Garang, we know you and Jesus are walking by us.

Creativity In Motion back for another HEADLINER!

Last weekend Friday 22nd of July was Creativity in Motion Fashion Show case by Limkokwing University and I was a part of the show of course, I think this is my 5th Creativity in Motion and boy am I glad I did it again.

This was probably one of the best CIM Fashion Shows I've done. Its quite inspiring watching the rising student designers work hard for what they love and put so much effort to present their work to the public & at Bangsar shopping complex they definitely achieved the aim of the show, which is presenting CREATIVITY IN MOTION.

This time around the make up was quite unexpected and different yet topped our previous CIM shows, Smoky golden eyes & golden glitter splashed around the model's bodies, here is a clear sample of the make up.

One design caught my attention the most, the designer explained that the top was made out of paper and she added some fabric for detailing to come up with her final design, how creative can it get? The design opened the show where Nadine Ann Thomas Miss Universe Malaysia put a SHOW STOPPER with at the very beginning of the show ;)... Checkout the design below

The 2nd design that I probably LOVE was the one that I wore myself, the white garment by Bo Ren which I thought was modernly creative, he couldn't speak English well so I couldn't really get into details about the design but I understood that he was inspired by the industry today and he wanted to put his own touch into and I think he did very well. Thumbs up. (Bo Ren's design below).

Not to forget, the stunning closing performance by the one and only Jonah which was phenomenal, Well done to all whom were apart of the show, the fierce models, sound & music also the staff. YES! WE DID IT : ).
